2 Suspected Bodaboda Thieves Set Ablaze At Red Soil Mwea, Kirinyaga

2 suspected motorbike thieves were set ablaze early this morning at Red Soil, Mwea along Mwea-Embu highway. The two who allegedly stole a bodaboda were beaten to pulp, set alight and burnt beyond recognition by irate members of public together with the bike they had stolen.

This comes barely hours after Morgan Media reported of a motorbike that was stolen yesterday in Kianjiru Market along Mwea-Embu highway in the evening.

Spate of motorbike thefts have been rampant in the country where the owners are killed or maimed as the villains make away with the bikes. The rackets are well coordinated in that thefts are orchestrated in a way few motorbikes are recovered after being stolen.

It's suspected the bikes are sold outside the county where they are untraceable.

Some are dismembered and sold as spares and scraps.

Unfortunately if the public corners the culprits they mete mob justice on them leaving them dead or maimed.

The charred remains have been taken to the morgue as police launch investigations on the matter.

Members of public are however cautioned not to take law on their hands but apprehended the culprits and hand them over to the relevant authority or to the police for them to be arrested and arraigned in court.
