Police in Mjini Kutus gunned down a middle aged man known by street name as Yakusa.
He was suspected to be outlawed Wîcame (Bogi-Genje) gang leader within the area which has been associated with criminal activities.
According to reports he was a wanted suspect linked with atrocities executed by the gang which has been a threat to security in Kutus Town.
Security teams are on high alert following the spate of attacks and muggings mostly targeting Kirinyaga University students and have vowed to weed off the other gang members undeterred .
